Sweden applies the principle of jus sanguinis (right of blood). Citizenship is typically passed from parent to child:
If your mother was a Swedish citizen at your birth, you are automatically Swedish.
If your father was Swedish and you were born after April 1, 2015, you also automatically qualify, even if your parents were not married.
